Meet our employee of the month - Suzie Penney, Customer Service Manager There was absolutely no contest this month. April 2015 - Employee of the Month

Author:

This month pretty much everyone voted for Alex Burgess our Production Team Leader. As if John, our Operations Manager being off on an extended holiday wasn't going to give Alex enough extra work to do, Paperlinx going bust added significantly to his workload. He negotiated at a high level with other merchants to source alternative stocks and has done an amazing job, giving us the best options available moving forward. All this is without even mentioning the hours of additional admin involved in updating all our systems! Alex, you really have come of age and showed maturity well above your y ...

Is it okay to email?

Author:

As a rule, and when we have news to share with you, we have always tended to send you a printed newsletter. We've always taken the view that that is what you'd expect from us – we are printers after all! As a bit of a 'show of hands' we'd like to know if you'd be happy for us to communicate by email (like important news we have to share) from time to time? Please spare 60 seconds to tell us how much is enough – once a quarter, one a month or only when we have something to share? But if you'd only really like to receive print from us – please tell us too! ...

New faces.

Author:

As well as welcoming in a new press in 2015, we have also welcomed some new faces to the business. Firstly Natasha Shaw joined us in February and her role is to support Frank as an additional Account Manager for our estate agent customers. As Frank was spending more time out of the office visiting customers, we felt it was important to bring someone in to ensure there is always someone on hand in the office to deal directly with estate agent enquires, and to make sure we can offer the best service possible at all times. Already Natasha is proving to be a really valuable member of the Kingfi ...

Baffled by numbers in print.

Author:

Does this ever happen to you? Now we do love to capture data here Kingfisher Print & Design. I'd almost say it's a skill we've mastered. But we all know if we don't use it wisely it's just a bunch of numbers. We always try to remind ourselves to see through them to find the trends, the kinks in our armour, and our strengths. Where you can pin point that investment and be confident that you'll get the return, remember that there's ALWAYS room for improvement. You don't need to reinvent print to be successful at it, there are enough models that already wo ...

Lean manufacturing and Kingfisher Print & Design go hand in hand. All we seem to hear these days is LEAN! Now what does this actually mean to us? Well in essence, it is shedding the fat. Because we don't live in a perfect world. When things go wrong, we cut straight through the bull excuses and make the call to say whatever it takes we'll get ...
